In July, 1964 Anna and Tony Wakim opened Marianne Style. Newly married, Anna and Tony dreamed of building a business together, a business that would grow with them and their soon-to-be family. They were blessed with four children, three daughers and a son.  In a sense, family life centred on the store with all children having a hand in its operation.  They built a strong, thriving business that has stood the test of of time due to their unflinching dedication to their customers and a committment to delivering quality fashions that looked great. They worked together for 31 years and in this time built a reputation for quality and extraordinary customer service until Tony passed away in 1995.  For the next 11 years, Anna worked side-by side with son John who assumed the management of Marianne Style.  Upon Anna's passing in 2006, John considered the fate of the business.  After consulations with many customers, John decided that the business that had become such an integral part of the region and the Wakim family would continue.. 

Today, John Wakim continues the tradition of service and quality begun by his parents.  Recognizing that one must always adapt to meet the changing needs of customers, John has introduced new lines to the store, including the fantastically succesful Frank Lyman, a Canadian designer, that has excited existing customers as well as introduced a new group of customers.  "It is important not only to continue the traditions that have made Marianne Style the style institution it has been for the past 44 years but to forge new ground with new designers and merchandise in demand by today's customer"  noted John.
